Donald Driver only had four receptions for 34 yards. However, he had two touchdown receptions that included a seven-yard top-tapper that gave the Packers a 35-27 advantage in the fourth quarter.
Stud: Aaron Rodgers(notes)
Aaron Rodgers had four touchdown passes. The funny part is that this could be his worst performance after 12 games. Rodgers finished 28-of-46 for 369 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. That ended his streak of games with a QB rating of 110. 0 or greater; he finished with a QB rating of 106. 2. At least six of those incompletions were from drops.
I loved seeing Rodgers orchestrate that game-winning drive. That's a fine experience for the Packers and their offense.
Stud: Clay Matthews(notes)
I've noticed that Dom Capers has been using Clay Matthews in pass coverage. Matthews had an interception for the second consecutive game. He scored on a 38-yard return after intercepting a telegraphed pass from Eli Manning(notes) during the second quarter. Matthews also had a sack and an assist on a tackle. I would've liked to see him more active on run defense but that's probably nagging.
Dud: Charlie Peprah(notes)
Charlie Peprah appeared to have been burned on a few occasions. Peprah was getting behind the receivers and aggressively biting on the play action. Victor Cruz(notes), Hakeem Nicks(notes) and Travis Beckum(notes) combined for 15 receptions and 274 yards largely because of Peprah's blown coverages.
Dud: Jermichael Finley(notes)
I remember when the media was praising Jermichael Finley for his great hands. He was considered as the player with the most-reliable hands on the team. His only Achilles heels were his attitude and ability to stay healthy.
Finley has severely regressed since that point. The Packers' receivers supposedly buy Best Buy gift cards for every dropped pass. Finley may need to purchase the entire company at his current rate. He had two more dropped passes. His dropped passes have occurred in critical parts of games and third downs.
Finley did have six receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown. He's still a remarkable matchup problem for any defense. I'm just getting irritated with the drops because I expect much better than that from him.
Summary
The Packers have an opportunistic defense that generates points and field possession with takeaways. With that said, they're too inconsistent to be considered anything better than "Poor. " Every defensive back on that field was getting burned throughout the game. The defense softens up whenever they have a double-digit lead.
I don't know what the solution is. I figured that they would improve during the final two months of the season (playoffs included) and I hope that's still the case. However, Brandon Jacobs(notes) and Ahmad Bradshaw(notes) were gashing the defense all game. They combined for 19 carries and 97 rushing yards. That's disappointing when one considers that the Giants had the NFL's worst run-offense before this contest.
James Starks(notes) was injured for the third consecutive game. Seeing that the Packers' next two games are against out-of-conference opponents and they practically have a first-round bye clinched, I wish they'd just sit him for at least this next game. I liked what I saw from Brandon Saine(notes). I have no worries with a backfield containing Starks, Saine and Alex Green(notes) for 2012-13.
The Packers are becoming too dependent on Aaron Rodgers. They'll need more than that when they're playing the New orleans saints and San francisco 49ers, especially the 49ers in a bad-weather game.
The reality is this: all that matters is their performance in January and February. Anything else is bonus.

In a word, no.
That is not to diminish the significance of the Woods victory in his own event, the Chevron World Challenge, by a stroke over Zach Johnson. After going winless for more than two years, any triumph means a lot to Woods, as one could tell from his signature fist pump when the short birdie putt on 18 dropped, and by the wide smile afterwards which wouldn’t go away.
Last year, in this same event, he blew a four-shot lead to Graeme McDowell. This year, he was leading by two with seven holes to go, and appeared as if he might blow it again. The fact he didn’t, that he came up with his best shots under the greatest pressure – the two approaches on 17 and 18 – speaks volumes for how much Woods has progressed during these last few months, and for what he could very well accomplish in 2012.
“It feels great, ” Woods said after registering his first win since the 2009 Australian Open. “Kind of hard for me to elaborate beyond that. I know it’s been a while, but also for some reason it feels like it hasn’t. ”
At the same time, it is important to provide some perspective to what Woods did here.
For starters, the Chevron World Challenge is an exhibition, not an official PGA Tour event, comprising a field of just 18 players. Besides Woods and Johnson, only Jim Furyk and Keegan Bradley have won major championships.
As a contrast, the field at the Nedbank Golf Challenge in Sun City, South Africa included: Lee Westwood, who won it, Masters champ Charl Schwartzel, Martin Kaymer, world No. 1 Luke Donald, and McDowell. If they had been playing at Sherwood, the Woods triumph would have been really impressive.
Woods was asked a question along those lines. He responded in typical Woods fashion.
“We have world ranking points, ” he said.
It is highly likely that Woods, slated to rise to No. 21 with his win, will be back among the Top 10 before the azaleas bloom in Augusta. His confidence level appears to be much greater than it was at this point last year after he finished second to McDowell.
“Last year, I was very one-dimensional how i played, ” he said. “I played only right to left. … “This year it’s exciting because I’m able to hit both shots and all different trajectories. ”
He also knows how to make the critical mid-round corrections that frequently spell the difference between winning and losing.
“I’m pleased with the way that I’m able to fix my swing out there, ” he said. “I know what I need to do to do it right. ”
Maybe so, but he will have to prove it again in 2012, especially at the marquee events. There were still too many loose shots, especially in the one-over 73 he fired on Saturday when he lost a four-shot advantage. He may not get away with that next time.
Woods will be judged by how he has always preferred to be judged, by how many majors he can add to the 14 he has racked up since he turned pro in 1996, by whether he can make a run at Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18.
Woods has not won a major since the 2008 U. S. Open at Torrey Pines. He turns 36 later this month and there are many young players who aren’t intimidated by him in the least. Time isn’t infinite the way it once appeared to be, and he can’t afford another serious injury.
He was asked if he is truly back.
“It’s pretty funny, ” he said, “because one of my buddies texted me this morning. And he was saying just an old L. L. Cool J lyric, ‘Can’t call it a comeback, been here for years. ’”.

The plane made an emergency landing at Norfolk, Va., but Cortes was pronounced dead on arrival.
LSG Sky Chefs, a German company that makes airline food for more than 300 airlines, has asked to get the lawsuit dismissed. "Based on the allegations in the complaint, it is possible that Sky Chefs is the responsible party, because we do not meet a flight from Barcelona to the question," said spokeswoman Josephine Corsten.
The unusual part of the lawsuit alleges that American Airlines was at fault, to Cortez on board the second phase of its flight, because he was a compromise. As the Department of Transport says MSNBC, it is much more common for passengers injured to sue for the opposite reason:
"We are not aware of receiving any complaints of passengers, the airlines should be denied boarding because of illness, but it was allowed to fly", a spokesman Bill Mosley said the DOT MSNBC. Instead, he said, the agency is generally meant the passengers tried to board a plane, but can not afford to do so.
