Aaron RAodgers
Apologies. Greg Jennings refuses to go rookie.
Oh, it's great that all five receivers is the Highlight Reel for the first game of the season. A balloon - in fact - can spread throughout the world. However, 61 yards to Randall Cobb? It is not enough.
"It's like the ultimate satisfaction when anyone can enter," said Jennings. "(But) you get to Randall Cobb, because he blew his chance."
Four of the five Green Bay Packers wide receivers scored touchdowns in 49-23 loss Sunday. Cobb, field speed up in an instant was activated in time savings.
"Well," says Jennings. "It's the level we have."
Apparently. For the first time all year, not a wide receiver left the game on an empty stomach. So consumed with Broncos tight end Jermichael Finley, Packers' wing alternated shots of the Denver secondary. Jennings (seven catches for 103 yards), Jordy Nelson (5-91), James Jones (3-48) and Donald Driver (30-20) all caught touchdowns, while Cobb (2-75) was a broken tackle.
It was a daunting challenge for Aaron Rodgers and the offense - to keep everyone happy. After the season opens Jones expressed his displeasure at not being on the field more. Cobb, despite his Olympic stride length between the hashes, which targeted five times in the first three games. And the driver, the team of all time leading receiver? A week earlier, he had zero catches for only the third time in his 10 years as a starter.
Ad nauseum, Rodgers reminded everyone that he is simply going to throw the receiver, which is open. One evening, which included everything.
The regular season play quickly reminded of the 7-on-7 tournament needling Rodgers passes from every window of the crime.
"We want to be unstoppable," Jennings. "I think there are some things we can do to improve our unstoppability. But I do not mean that we are unstoppable. We are very confident in the other, and we feel we have to score when we have the ball in our hands. "
Wideouts attacked Denver's defense in many ways. Nelson kicks off the 50-yard touchdown things play-action fake off, strangely reminiscent of deep Jennings touchdown to Carolina two weeks ago.In his sixth NFL season, Jennings will have to find new ways to overcome the different covers. Last week, its lowest range used routes leading to the surprise of cover-3 defense. This week, often aligned in a place near Finley. With a tight end to lure the defenders of ups and downs, Jennings Broncos were burned up the seam. Several times - that is, their 17-yard touchdown - Rodgers hit Jennings, before the defender could also glide over.
In the caucus, before the game, Rodgers said Jennings and Finley to align on the same page.
"He probably thought that the coverage would go for us, and he would have someone on the other side," said Jennings. "But it's almost as if they skipped J-Mike and I left in the palace."
Jennings made contact, and was standing behind the end zone. Open arms - are-you-kidding-me look splattered all over her face - although Jennings was surprised to be so open. Extra defensive back jumped to Finley during the game. This demoralizing touchdown gave the Packers lead to 28-17 with 27 seconds remaining in the first half.
