This piece of McKinney on the report of CNN iReport iPhone as a path:
Hoping that the phone could have a soft landing, I ran to my car and kicked out of "Find My iPhone" my iPad APP.
As unbelievable as it may seem, my phone had fallen to 13 500 feet, and still had to send a signal. According to my iPad, was less than 1 / 4 mile away, and where on the roof of the factory.
We loaded and taken down, do not interrupt a speech on July 4th picnic company. After telling them why I was there, they offered to lift me on the roof to get him.
I do not think there was any way the application can be as accurate, but low and behold it was right where my iPad said it was and it still worked! 13,500 ft 120mhp a steel roof, and still alive! On my truck ride back to Earth, it began to vibrate in my hand, my wife and Jumpin Joe called me from there, laughing hysterically!
Once again in my Ford F150 Raptor, is out of sync, even my car, and I could make the call as well!
Mike Gikas, Consumer Reports Tech journalist, reportedly said that the phone is indeed possible to survive drops significantly. "I think it could happen. I think that water is difficult to manage than a shock," Gikas was quoted as saying.
